Current status and trends of mainstream non-woven fabric technology in China

Apr.13.2020

In the past year, China's nonwovens industry continued to develop at a high speed, and its production capacity and output increased rapidly.

According to China Industrial Textile Industry Association (CNITA) statistics, last year China's total nonwoven production reached 1.177 million tons, an increase of 12.89% year-on-year, of which the total production of spunbonded nonwovens reached 429,500 tons, accounting for 36.47% of the total; The total production of melt-blown nonwoven fabrics is 19055 tons, accounting for 1.62% of the total. According to data from the American Nonwovens Association (INDA), the global market demand for nonwovens was 4.4 million tons in 2004 and 1.4 million tons in the Asia-Pacific region, accounting for 32% of the global nonwoven market demand. The production and market of non-woven fabrics in the Asia-Pacific region will continue to maintain high-speed growth in the future, and Chinese non-woven fabrics will continue to maintain their growth momentum at a double-digit growth rate.

Spunbond Nonwoven Technology and Market

Statistics from the China Industrial Textile Industry Association Spunbond Division (CNITA Spunbond Division) show that last year China ’s total production capacity of spunbond nonwovens reached 712,000 tons, with a total production of 429,500 tons, up 15.92% and 19.26% year-on-year ; The increase in output is greater than the increase in capacity, which shows that the situation of oversupply has eased, and market demand is increasing; in addition, there are data showing that the growth rate of manufacturers is lower than the growth rate of production lines and output, indicating that the growth is benign, The main reason is that the growth of the market has guided enterprises to expand their production capacity independently.

SMS composite nonwoven fabric. The development of SMS composite nonwoven fabrics in China began in the late 1990s. Jiangyin Jinfeng took the lead in the production of SMS nonwoven fabrics using offline composite equipment. To date, there have been many domestic enterprises that can produce such SMS products.

Disposable hygiene products are the largest consumable market for SMS nonwovens. According to the statistics of the China Paper Association ’s Household Paper Professional Committee, last year, the domestic consumption of disposable sanitary products, including sanitary napkins, baby diapers, adult incontinence products, etc. was specifically: the consumption of sanitary napkins was 39.9 billion pieces, the market 61.4% penetration rate; 17.8 billion pieces of sanitary pads, 6.17% market penetration rate; 4.17 billion pieces of baby diapers, 9.43% market penetration rate; 118 million pieces of adult diapers (including diapers), Nursing pads sold 233 million pieces.

At present, large manufacturers of sanitary products are entering the Chinese market one after another. On May 16, last year, the Swedish SCA Group held the opening ceremony of the SCA Asia-Pacific headquarters in Shanghai; on May 11 this year, Kimberly-Clark set up its Chinese headquarters in Shanghai and began to fully expand the Chinese market .

PP spunbond non-woven fabric. PP spunbond nonwoven fabric is currently the largest product in China. The output of this type of nonwoven fabric was 392,700 tons last year, accounting for more than 90% of the entire spunbond fabric. More than 80% of PP spunbond non-woven fabric production enterprises are producing products in the same application field, which will inevitably cause problems such as fierce competition, price competition, low efficiency, and sluggish production among enterprises. Viscose cloth still occupies a minority in the current market share, so the high-quality, versatile spun-bonded cloth market is promising.

PET spunbond non-woven fabric. Last year, China's output of PET spunbond nonwovens reached 24.75 million tons, accounting for 5.76% of the total spunbond. The companies that newly put into production of PET spunbond production lines are: Henan Xichuan (acupuncture technology); Liaohua (located in the market for PET thin hot-rolled nonwoven fabrics); Jiangxi Guoqiao (a new acupuncture spunbond yarn production line. Strip the original dual-use production line out of the needle punching machine, and then complete the new line of components). Tianjin Hengguan officially entered this field at the beginning of this year. Its net laying and drafting are specially designed, and the hot rolling mill uses Küster equipment. At the same time, Shaoxing Yaolong's PET / PE two-component design production line can also be produced Polyester hot-rolled spunbond fabric.

At present, the development of modern construction methods such as continuous flat roofs and light structures with increasing area in China has increased the quality requirements of the roof waterproof layer. Using polyester spunbond needle-punched non-woven fabric as the tire base, matching with APP and SBS modified asphalt, it can produce high-quality waterproof coiled material and bring huge market space.

Meltblown nonwoven technology and market

As of the beginning of this year, China has 16 continuous melt-blown nonwoven fabric production enterprises and 24 production lines; intermittent melt-blown nonwoven fabric production lines are nearly 300, and the total annual production capacity of melt-blown production lines is nearly 30,000 tons per year Last year, the actual production volume reached 19,055 tons, a slight increase.

In the intermittent melt-blown non-woven production line, last year the output of Shanghai Keneng and Hangzhou Zhongnan was large, both exceeding 1,000 tons. Intermittent melt-blown nonwoven fabric production lines are scattered in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Hebei and other places. Its main markets are battery separators and filter elements for filtration.

Meltblown non-woven fabrics currently have two domestic development forms. One is that companies such as Tianjin TEDA, Anhui Aohong, and Shanghai Jiarong specialize in single meltblown nonwoven fabrics and focus on their market development; One situation is such companies as Jiangyin Jinfeng, Open Source, and Shandong Junfu, which newly introduced a 3.2-meter-wide meltblown line at the end of 2004. This type of enterprise is generally equipped with a compound hot rolling mill, which uses its own meltblown cloth for production. Two-step SMS product.

In the field of meltblown non-woven fabrics with low output, products with high performance, high added value and meeting the needs of special fields, such as blood filtration and high-performance medical filtration, may bring more profits to the enterprise.

At present, the domestic meltblown continuous equipment is domestic equipment except for five imported production lines. Among the domestic equipment, Beijing Baosteel produced more. Since 2003, Hongda Research Institute has cooperated with Beijing Baosteel to form Hongda Best Company. The continuous meltblown equipment produced by it has been greatly improved, and its market share is increasing. See increase. In addition, some melt-blown production enterprises have also purchased some parts and made their own melt-blown equipment. As for the intermittent equipment, a large part of them use self-made equipment.
